Spearfish Recreation and Aquatics Center

The Spearfish Recreation and Aquatic Center was a renovation and addition of a former Wal-Mart building. Renovation included repurposing the interior with community wellness rooms, a suspended walking track, weight rooms, shower facilities, and office space. Exterior improvements included demolition of the parking lot to allow for a new outdoor waterpark. The outdoor waterpark included; zero-entry pools for toddlers, current pools, a lap pool, and three large slides. Ainsworth-Benning was the general contractor and self-performed all concrete, rough carpentry, steel erection, finish carpentry and specialties. The first phase of the project was completed two months ahead of schedule and the second phase was completed on schedule.
