Mount Rushmore Society
The Mount Rushmore Society Commercial Remodel project enlivened an existing building at 830 Main Street in Rapid City, SD to provide a permanent space to relocate the Society’s administration offices from a location on the east side of Rapid City to a downtown building location. The Society was founded in 1930 as a basis for preserving, promotion and enhancing Mt. Rushmore. The site is located in downtown Rapid City near the north end of Mt. Rushmore Road. The new location will allow the community and visitors to have a more visible and accessible location to identify, work, and connect with the Mt. Rushmore Society. The remodel was designed by Fennell Designs & CO-OP Architects and constructed by Ainsworth Benning. The space was a complete remodel providing new bathrooms, 5 new office spaces, central administration/ reception area, and a conference room space. The total remodel was 7,000 sf and was done as a Design – Bid – Build project.
