Hotel Phillips
This project is one of a kind, turning the downtown, historic Great Western Bank into an elegant, boutique hotel. The building is nine stories tall and houses hotel rooms on floors 3-9. There are a total of 91 rooms with 18 different room types. On the first floor, the original bank vault used by Great Western Bank stayed in place and is used as an entry for the Treasury Bar. The project also has historical features on the exterior and interior of the building, including the unique plasterwork on the ceilings of the first and second floors.
The second-floor mezzanine level includes a library for guests, a fitness center, a spa offering guest massages, and a social room overlooking the river that can seat about 50 people.
The lobby is an elegant space, with the columns redone in wood and flooring that incorporates local quartz. On the east end, the lounge is open to the public. Coffea Coffee offers beverages and breakfast to go.
A unique, modern feature of the hotel is the use of Alexa in all guest rooms. This allows guests to use voice commands for activities such as turning on and off the lights and changing the temperature.
