Dow Rummel Memory Care and Assisted Living Expansion

This project included over 120,000 square feet of additions and remodeling to Dow Rummel Village. The primary addition provides thirty memory care and thirty assisted living units along with support spaces such as living, dining, and sitting areas as well as private porches with courtyard access. Mainstreet additions include featured storefronts such as a library, diner, and a general store. Kitchens and dining spaces encourage group activity participation by the residents and their families. A gathering hall addition was also added adjacent to the chapel to allow for larger group activities. Building additions complement existing structures on campus and are primarily steel structures with brick and siding exteriors with shingle roof systems to maintain a residential appearance. While remodeled areas include additional “Main Street” shops; such as a theater, beauty shop, craft room, art room and a pub space with access to the putting range. The beautiful existing courtyards will be enhanced with new walking paths, trees, and shrubs as well as playground equipment, shade structures, and other landscape features to encourage community residents to enjoy some fresh air.
